Your newsletter's appearance does matter

Property Management Newsletters

Aliasak,

You've seen and read newsletters before. So you know that no two newsletters are alike. However, that doesn't mean you should feel free to create whatever you want just to get it out the door. Some newsletters perform much better than others. You want your newsletter to be the one that gets read and passed along.

Here are some tips for visually engaging your clients and prospects and achieving your own goal of staying top-of-mind:

  • Stick to a 2-Column Layout.
No one likes to read large chunks of text. Subconsciously it's kind of terrifying to see a whole lot of words on a page. The two column layout helps you break up the copy so it seems less intimidating and easier to digest. Trying to add a third column just makes things messy...so stick with two and you'll be in great shape.

  • Use Color if Possible.
Email and web newsletters are great because they can be as colorful as you choose without any added cost. Making your newsletter colorful helps draw the gaze of your contacts because we're all attracted to bright things. Add in a few full-color pictures and even your least-likely-to-read-it contacts will spare a few seconds to take a look.

  • Include Your Logo at the Top.
Most of us are wary of opening emails not from close friends and family. So the first thing you need to do is clearly identify yourself in your email newsletter (even though the from address is obviously from you.) Your logo at the top of the email will help you build trust with your contacts and keep your name fresh in their minds.

  • Make It Look Professional.
Remember, your newsletter is a reflection of you. If it looks cheap, you will look cheap. So be classy. Avoid using clip art and poor resolution photos. Include your contact information. Carefully check your content for grammar mistakes. Make sure your tables and formatting have no errors.

All of these things make impressions (either good or bad) on your reader. So if you want to be the go-to company for property management, you need to give that impression in your newsletter.

Don't have the time to create a great-looking newsletter?
